BASKETBALL GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Updated:  01/28/2009 at 6:01 PM

Duke (12 Boys)

Our boys never giving up and in fact, coming from a substantial deficit to briefly take the lead in the game!

North Carolina (12 Boys)

Campbell Turner had the play of the game for Team UNC.  Defensively, Campbell shut down his matchup and had a key rebound which helped propel the Tar Heels to victory!  Great play Campbell.

NC State (12 Boys)
This week, Ryan Mitchell earned offensive player of the game with his personal highest point total, Sonny Kendrick rebounded his way to defensive player of the game, and Jack Reitter earned best sportsmanship with his unyielding hustle and tenacity! The entire Wolfpack team played hard in a fast paced game that produced it’s highest point total of the season (40)! The short handed Maryland team hung tough with little rest in this back and forth contest and managed to knock down several key baskets from long range. Congratulations to both of these ACC standouts for a well played game!

Duke (12 Girls)

Great job on defense.   Our girls really picked it up and kept us in the game.

Clemson (34 Girls)

Kylie Burroughs, Caitlyn Logan and Blake Sutherland combined to make 5 of 6 free throws and Kendall King, Caroline Queen and Riley Wyatt led a smothering defense that resulted in a pair of victories Saturday. We hear Oliver Purnell is hoping to reserve time for the girls to lead a free throw shooting clinic for his team!

Michigan State (12 Boys)
Jackson Gill scored inside and out with the help of good passes from Alec McGinnis, Sam Mellor and Ridge Hardee. Justin Moore and Matt Cooper had a strong rebounding game while Reece Calhoun and Eric Oliver show great hustle and toughness.

Charlotte (12 Boys)

Pass in From Jason Traub to Nicholas Pezzo.  Nicholas takes it the length of the court and shoots it in for 2 points.

Penn State (12 Boys)
Led by everyone’s hustle and Jordan Thalacker's key defensive rebounds in the last quarter and a great team effort, Penn State came from behind to win this past Saturday.

Kansas (56 Boys)

Kyle LeBlanc scored a bucket just before the final horn to cap a balanced offensive game for team Kansas.  Seven players made it into the scoring column for the game.  Our defense was sparked by Ryan Shirley who had a number of tipped passes and steals.

Charlotte (34 Boys)

Daniel Haller dribbled the ball deep to the corner, while Bennett Strange set a pick for Thomas McMillan, who slid to the basket unguarded. Daniel threw a perfect pass over several defenders to Thomas for the wide open layup.   It was a good all round day for the 49er's!!!

Davidson (12 Boys)

Tyler came alive in this game and played great ball on both ends of the court.  Thomas effectively stopped the main scoring threat on the opposite team in the second half.  Will (who was playing at a definite height disadvantage to the boy who was guarding him) was asked if he wanted to switch his armband so he would not be against such a mismatch.  He responded, "No thanks coach, I am doing fine." Nick made a fantastic play when he dove on the floor between two defenders to come up with ball and get it back to his own team.
